North Island is a privately owned luxury collection resort island located Northwest of the main island of Mahé. It is quite close to the Silhouette Island and is accessible by helicopter. The Island offers exclusive hotel offers in 11 villas placed along the island beaches. The resort offers an array services with an absolute privacy. The price could be about $10,000 or more /villa /night.
Way over rated resort, went there 2015, Very large 11 private villas mostly outdoor seating, interior was aged needed upgrade. you’ll see a lot insects coming in villa at night, so spraying is needed, the bathroom is nice, but toilet area is outdated not up to high standard, the pool in villa is a circle not so inviting. You have 1 butler serving your villa no other staff available to help, so good luck getting what you wish for fast. Food is basic, they send daily set menu, so ordering what you wish for is not true, I asked for lobster it took 2 days to deliver, wine is limited to 1 brand of red & white very basic, no verity to chose from, unless you buy from cellar for more money to spend. Main pool very small tucked near a hill, not a lot of sunshine comes to it. This resort big assets are the 2 little mountains that you can hike in 40min & 4 beautiful beaches. But you can get that in other islands like Prislan, other cheaper private islands or by boat rides. This resort is ridiculously expensive for what you get in return. They charge per head not per room, which is something like $2500 a person. Pictures are very deceiving in this resort, once you get there it’s not as glamorous.
Cancelled our reservation 2 weeks to the day before check in because the owner wants the entire island. I spent 1.5 years planning the perfect trip to Africa for our daughter. This comes after I requested LAST WEEK to postpone our trip, I was worried about customer service during their transition of leaving Bonvoy which they told me absolutely not, that it would be a full charge for any changes or cancellations. We completely understood because that information is stated upfront in the booking (but thought it was at least worth asking). But to be such an exclusive resort luxury resort and in all my years of working in the travel industry I have NEVER seen such terrible customer service. I will never book a client here again. In fact I will go out of my way to tell people to not stay here. This is unacceptable.
