Novela Muine Resort & Spa

A basic traditional hotel located right on the beach and nearby several shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Daily housekeeping to a good standard. There is a nice garden and a large jacuzzi pool and a swimming pool. Our room was very quiet. The breakfast is not very good. Lots of cold food from the previous day. There is an egg station and fresh bread. Limited choice otherwise. The sea and beach here are very dirty and full of garbage as is all of mui ne bay. I would not swim here.

Basic hotel with no frills. Sea front rooms look right out to the beach. Rooms are basic with firm to hard bed and old style fitment. Hotel lacks maintenance throughout IE broken lounges and generally decor in need of repair / replacement. Room cleaning staff are friendly and efficient, reception staff friendly and efficient but restaurant staff found to be unfriendly and lack interest in serving. Breakfast is very very basic to the point we didn't bother to have breakfast after the 1st morning on our 7 day stay. Breakfast serves only Asian dishes, although there is an egg station serving fried, scrambled and omelette. Location is good for mini mart and a selection of restaurants. Mainly Russian guests. On our stay a group gathered one evening at / in the jacuzzi pool with bottles and glasses which was not managed by the hotel.

The good: - By the beach and has a small swimming pool. - Air-conditioning works. The bad: - Dirty and unsafe beach. Broken tiles, broken seashells, floating fabric and ropes. No warning signs or preventive measures for safety. 3 of my family members got hurt from sharp tiles/bricks?? in the water and stung by jellyfish. - Reused slippers from previous guests, filthy. - Uses physical keys, card key doesn't work. - Loud music from outside can be heard in rooms. - Rooms next to each other with a shared balcony have a barrier so it isn't ideal for family's as the max is 2-3 per room. - Room phones don't work. - WiFi is appalling, there's basically none. - Hair dryers are luck of the draw as some rooms are provided, some aren't. - TV doesn't work. - Dirty bathroom. - 3 star hotel but advertises as 4 due to reviews. - if you're a wheelchair user, avoid this place like the plague. If you've ever travelled elsewhere, you can see the amenities that are included with 3 star hotels, the quality of these amenities are more along the lines of 1 star. This place is a 2 at BEST. Foreign currency is stronger here, just go somewhere else.
