Although the hotel is in the noisy old town, the room is quiet. It is worth choosing the upper floor if possible, as it is quieter and brighter than the lower floors. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The room is neat and clean. I will recommend it to my friends if they are looking for accommodation in Istanbul.

We stayed here for three nights on a trip to Istanbul. The price was good and the value for price was also good. We arrived very late at night due to delayed flights and the man on reception was kindly waiting for us, despite check in having closed. We checked in easily, and were impressed. It was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed. It was only once we noticed that road noise was loud that we discovered that the window was broken and had fallen off the hinges, so actually wouldn’t shut. This meant that sleep was a little disturbed due to outside noise. It was also once we woke up the next day that there was an awful smell of sewage. It was discovered that the drain in the shower was blocked. We reported both issues, and the sewage smell went away but the door was not fixed, just simply shut. It reduced the noise but didn’t fix the issue. Breakfast was good and lovely ladies at breakfast offering delicious omelettes. We would have preferred more offerings like yogurts or a toaster for the bread but it didn’t put us off.

There’s basically just one person running everything, so you never really feel safe. The air conditioning is controlled from the reception, and if you feel hot you literally have to beg them to adjust it – and most of the time they just ignore you. The breakfast didn’t look or smell fresh at all. I didn’t like it and ended up not eating it. The receptionist is very irritable and gets angry so quickly. Honestly, it feels like staying in the house of a grumpy, stingy old lady who’s watching your every move. Even if we say the rooms are fine and the location is good, there are plenty of other hotels nearby that offer better security, better service, better prices, and a much nicer attitude.
