Novotel Beijing Sanyuan

Great location since it's right next to the subway to airport. Room a little tight but this is expected in a big city. Room is very well equipped and beautifully decorated with modern furniture and style. Staff speaking English well is a big plus. However, front desk customer service is a bit lacking because I found no smile on most of their faces (maybe night shift staff needs some sleep?). They do answer all my questions well though. Definitely recommended!

I was having a great time staying here. However, I arrived midnight, and the midnight staff wasn't that friendly at all, the wifi is hard to access (phone number confirmation, and it isn't available for several countries, so you have to ask the reception person to ask for the access code). But despite of that, the room was great, We ordered a connecting room and the "connecting room key guy" arrived so fast and opened our connecting door in instant. The next morning, the staff had changed, the morning staff is so friendly and even showed us the way to a place that we wanted to go.

Rooms are alright but the service is really horrible. On arrival, they took our luggages and placed them on the bellboy trolley, but they didn't bring up our luggages to our room. We eventually found our luggages unattended and still on the trolley in the middle of the lobby about half an hour after going to our rooms. Doorman feels too cold and doesn't open the door for people. Front desk doesn't know how to handle check-ins properly. There's also no space in the concierge to temporarily hold our luggages upon check out even though they have a luggage room. Instead, luggages are just chucked at the side of the check-in counter. Pretty horrible for a supposed 4 star hotel.
