Novotel Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean

Always well welcomed in this hotel located close to Bordeaux station while not having too much noise from the animated streets. Breakfast provides a great choice of local foods. Personnel is great. Highly recommended.

5 minutes walk from the train station and with the D tram stop across the road, it provided quick and easy access across the city. I arrived in the area around 9am and asked if I could leave my bag until check-in time (2pm). They very kindly offered an alternative room that was clean and available immediately. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean, quiet and comfortable. Having an in-room safe and mini fridge was a plus. The mattress was good but had a plastic backed cover which made me sweat and a bottom sheet that wasn't big enough to tuck in so it wrinkled up under me whenever I moved. The breakfast buffet was extensive and everything was fresh and well presented. Dinner choices were limited and fairly expensive but the fish main was attractively presented, perfectly cooked and delicious.

Dirty hotel, outdated, and it seems it's run by 3 students. I'm very disappointed! The other Novotel in the center is way better and clean! Avoid this dirty hotel, which is definitely not 4 stars! The only good thing was the secured underground garage.
