The executive rooms are spacious, the bed very comfortable! It's nice to have Rituals products in the bathroom. Unfortunately the coffee in the room is not the best (compared to Nespresso at the Pullman). Staff at the hotel was very helpful. Dinner at the restaurant next door was also very good, just a shame they are separate. I can only recommend the heated outdoor pool! In this case Novotel wins compared to Pullman. 😉 There are outdoor games and comfy seats, especially for families a good place to stay.

Very welcoming, stylish lobby with fantastic natural lighting. The rooms albeit decently sized, had a couple minor issues - water accumulating into an area of the carpet outside the toilet and the handsoap dispenser wasn’t refilled for us. The Desk lamp also had no bulb so at night the room itself was darker than we would have liked. However the location and property were ideal for what we needed.

From the outside, the hotel is anything but inviting – neither the entrance nor the so-called garden deserve those names. Inside, there was an attempt to create a fresh, youthful design, and the restaurant also serves as a steakhouse, but unfortunately, these efforts don’t make up for the many shortcomings. Positives: The lady at the reception on my first day was very friendly and helpful. Negatives: Most of the other staff members were rather rude and unfriendly throughout my stay, which made the overall atmosphere even less pleasant. A guest before me had to return to the reception right after checking in because his bed was disassembled in the room and he needed a new room – not a good first impression. My own room had been modernized, and the bathroom was updated to a more contemporary standard. However, there was an empty water bottle in the room, completely fogged up from the inside. When I asked at reception, I was told this was intentional, as guests are expected to fill their own water from a “water station” in the hallway. After two days, there were no cups or carafes available at the station anymore, so I had to use my own PET bottle. My room was not cleaned once during my three-day stay, even though I was given a door hanger by reception to signal that cleaning was needed. I suspect this was also the reason why there were no more carafes and cups available – they were probably left in the uncleaned rooms. All of this cost nearly €200 per night (without breakfast!). Conclusion: The value for money here is simply not right. Except for the friendly receptionist on the first day, the staff’s attitude was disappointing. I will definitely never book the Novotel Bordeaux again.
