Novotel Breda

I stayed in room 215 and received a wonderful welcome from Lotte at the reception! The rooms were clean and the pool was very pleasant. Many thanks to the entire team at Novotel Breda, with a special mention to Lotte, who was welcoming, caring, and clear in her explanations.

Clean rooms and nice staff. The location is in a quiet area and 10 minutes away from the centre. The restaurant staff are very friendly and welcoming specially Anouk and Florines.

Awful stay. They were hosting 3 football teams, an annual event apparently. The teams behaviour was appalling; Yelling and shouting, and slamming doors at 0430, ignoring the night shift manager for 40 mins who was asking them to stop. The behaviour was disgraceful. The impact of this event meant that we waited for nearly an hour for 2 meals, 4 were ordered, only 2 came after an hour wait! One of the 2 meals was cold and had to go back. When we asked the staff what was taking so long they said they were too busy. When it was pointed out there were only 8 people in the restaurant, the staff admitted they were prioritising meal preparation for the next day, for the football teams over customer orders in the restaurant. When challenged on why they had not told us this in the beginning, to which we could have opted to go elsewhere, they went and chased up the 2 other meals plus the one sent back. Another 20 mins and the 2 other meals arrived, along with the original cold meal that had only been heated in a microwave, which was obvious because of what it did to the salad. So an hour and 20 wait for food, and to make it worse the food was awful. The prawns on the surf and turf were burned to the point of being solid like a brick and unedible. Awful, awful place. Who prioritises next day food prep over waiting customers! Either they did not put enough staff on in the kitchen to cope, or the staff had terrible priority and organisational skills. They certainly were unable to provide good service or good food.
