Novotel Cairo El Borg

I had a truly wonderful experience staying at Novotel, and there were so many little touches that made it stand out. Breakfast each morning was a highlight, plenty of variety including fresh fruit, made-to-order eggs, and omelettes. What made it even more special was the service: the staff remembered my hot drink every morning, and my Mocha would arrive the moment I sat down. That small gesture made me feel seen and genuinely cared for. Room cleaning was consistent and well done. I also had a great pedicure experience with my girls—despite being a last-minute request for four people, the spa team fit us in and made it feel seamless. The rooftop restaurant was another memorable moment, great food, stunning views, and an overall lovely atmosphere. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and well-kept, and the hotel itself is very family-friendly. But what really gave me peace of mind was the security. I felt completely safe during my stay—there were plenty of cameras in the corridors and even a visible police presence right outside the hotel. I never once worried about safety, even at night. The only disappointment was with the juice. On my first day, I was served truly fresh-squeezed juice, and it was fantastic. But the next couple of days, the “fresh juice” was clearly from a carton—it was an obvious switch, and a letdown after the initial experience. That aside, everything else was spot on. Novotel offered comfort, care, and a relaxed environment that made it hard to leave. I’d absolutely recommend it and would happily return.

The service was excellent. The hotel was well managed, safe, clean, and professional. Visiting from the US (Arizona) for the first time, we didn't know what to expect, especially as we took our nine-year-old daughter. They helped with transportation to and from the airport and with sightseeing. We will gladly return when we come back to Cairo. We were able to book online and pay via Visa card upond arrival to the hotel.

Good location and renovated room and facility right in the downtown on the Nile. Good views specially from the rooftop restaurant. Gym and pool are very small. Breakfast offers good variety and decent food by Egyptian standards. Both restaurants have mediocre food quality and variety. AC is very noisy to be expected from an old property. Staff are polite but some are not genuine. We had a bad experience at 4am when the safe deposit box started to beep like a fire alarm, turned out to be dead batteries and had to be changed by the duty manager. Shampoo bottles were empty. Overall it was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area.
