Novotel Chumphon Beach Resort & Golf

Decent hotel. Good facilities, pools v good. Breakfast was v good. Can't explain it but there's something about the hotel that just needs a little update / redesign. There's not much to do locally but there are 4-5 really lovely local beach front family restaurants which have really good quality food and stunning views/ambience. It rained each day (not the hotel's fault of course) but the option of Netflix or similar on the TV would have been good - seems quite common in many hotels these days.

The condition of this room is quite bad. It’s old, very dusty, musty, and full of insects, which has triggered my allergies. I really can’t rest or stay here comfortably — it feels like i’m just putting myself through unnecessary hardship. I think it’s best if I find somewhere else to stay.

I do not recommend this hotel at all. The photos and reviews initially looked promising, but the reality was far from it. The hotel is old and poorly maintained, with plenty of dust everywhere, making it especially unsuitable for anyone with dust allergies. During my stay, there were three power outages at night (around 2:00 AM, 3:00 AM, and 6:00 AM), which made it hard for me to rest. I felt exhausted and got very little sleep. The beach in front of the hotel is unusable, filled with plastic trash and overgrown plants. The breakfast options were very limited, and the advertised massage room and golf course were closed. The only positive aspect was the reception staff, who provided standard hotel service. However, considering everything else, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
