I stayed at the Novotel Geelong for two nights and would happily stay there again. Location - right on the waterfront with plenty of restaurants/cafes nearby. Only thing was that the signage to find the entrance to the hotel was a little hidden, even for my friend who was a local and dropping me at the hotel. Check-in/Check-out - check-in was smooth and easy. Check-out was also smooth and easy and the staff member also ordered me a taxi to travel to the train station which arrived quickly for a Sunday morning. Room - my room was lovely and spacious, the view I was lucky to receive was out towards the harbour and was amazing. The room was clean and well serviced during my stay. Restaurant - I had the buffet breakfast on my final morning and was impressed with the choices however a little disappointed that if I wanted eggs other than the scrambled that were part of the buffet I needed to try find a staff member as none approached me to see if I wanted anything different, yet I saw them approach other guests. Overall though I would definitely stay again as the location is perfect.
We loved our stay here. Such a convenient location with great views over the beach/harbour area. Bigger than usual rooms with very comfortable beds and good clean bathroom. Great restaurant with outdoor seating if the weather is kind! Geelong was a big surprise for us - so much nicer than we were expecting! We will be back for sure!
The room was lovely, very comfortable, very well equipped, very clean. Ditto the hotel itself. Breakfast was good. Coffee was great. The staff are visibly miserable. Everyone seemed exhausted and over it. To me, this screams mismanagement. Customer service is tough going at the best of times. This team is not experiencing the best of times.
