The breakfast was definitely a highlight – great variety, fresh options, and the staff managing it were highly professional and attentive. The lobby staff and overall service team, including interns, were surprisingly professional and helpful, which added a nice touch to the stay. The rooms were decent – clean and functional, though not particularly standout. One downside was the swimming pool, which was quite small for a property of this scale. Overall, it's a good stay if you're looking for a hotel with great hospitality and a solid breakfast experience. Some improvements in room amenities and pool size would make it even better.
Disappointing Experience at Novotel – Poor Service & Overpriced Basics I had high expectations from Novotel, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The service was consistently below par – staff were inattentive, unprofessional, and lacked the courtesy you’d expect from a reputed hospitality brand. Basic guest service standards were not met, and any requests felt like a burden to the team. One of the most shocking aspects was the pricing – being charged over ₹375 plus taxes for a bottle of water is simply unreasonable, especially when the service quality doesn't match the premium being charged. It felt exploitative rather than luxurious. The overall environment did not feel welcoming. There was a clear lack of attention to guest comfort and satisfaction. Despite the brand's reputation, my stay was marred by a lack of warmth, hospitality, and value for money. Would not recommend this property unless there are substantial improvements in both staff behavior and service standards. Definitely not worth the price.
I stayed at Novotel Panjim and unfortunately fell quite ill during my stay — woke up with a high fever and body ache, feeling extremely weak. I ordered a healthy breakfast and politely requested for a simple paracetamol, as I was in no condition to step out myself. To my surprise, the initial response was a blunt “No”. After insisting and explaining my condition, I was told they would “arrange it.” A few minutes later, the manager called and said I’d either need to order the medicine myself or they could arrange a cab for ₹900 to fetch a ₹20 medicine from a store just 2 minutes away. Honestly, is that how a hotel of this standard treats its guests? I wasn’t asking for a prescription drug or anything unusual — just a basic paracetamol, which is available over the counter and doesn’t require a prescription. In a hospitality setting, especially when a guest is unwell, a little compassion and common sense are expected. Instead, I felt ignored, unsupported, and utterly disappointed. This is not just about service; it’s about basic humanity. Dear Management, please look into this seriously. Anyone can fall sick while traveling, and it’s during such times that true hospitality is shown — sadly, that was missing here. The manager, in particular, offered no real help, only excuses. Highly disappointed. I hope no other guest has to go through this experience
