We spent a night here to break our outward journey on holiday. The room was pleasant and clean, and the kids enjoyed the games room and giant teddy in reception! The evening meal was enjoyable and breakfast was also pleasant, if busy. The hotel is handily situated close to the autoroute, but also next to a very pleasant lake and children's play area, which we enjoyed exploring after dinner.
I had the worst breakfast experience of my entire life staying in Hotels. By 9 am there was virtually no food left, by 9:30 it was ostensibly all gone. The two men attempting to bring order to the chaos were completely overwhelmed, one of whom was also attending to the front desk checking people out. I talked to another English couple who have been going to the Hotel every year for 14 years and they told me it has been bad for the last 3 years, suggesting this was not unusual. We were a party of 4 none of whom were able to access a proper breakfast. For a company of this size it was utterly shameless and completely down to appalling management. I will be seeking compensation with photographic evidence to prove how poor it was.
I chose this hotel precisely because it has a restaurant open for dinner. I booked 10 rooms for my team, 4 nights and 3 days. Because the company I work for covers the cost of dinner at the restaurant for each team member up to a certain amount, I was happy to be able to take advantage of this benefit together with the team by having dinner at the restaurant. On the first evening we were offered a menu from which we chose what we wanted without exceeding the amount that I mentioned above for each of us, the prices being decent for a hotel of this type, compared to other locations in France where I have stayed in recent months. The food was good, but the service was extremely slow and the orders were badly mixed up. The next day, the whole team came to the restaurant to have dinner but we were presented with another menu with approximately the same dishes but the prices were changed by 15-20% upwards, so from one day to the next and at the same time the option to order 2 menus at a fixed price was removed from the menu (a lower price than if you order separately). My opinion is that this decision of the hotel to change only the prices on the menu is unfounded and based only on the fact that in these 3 days there will be larger orders at the restaurant to serve dinner, more precisely this action is called theft from the current clients who are accommodated in this unit! It is very disappointing to feel cheated in the face, even if for me and my team the costs are covered by the company but I think of the other tourists accommodated at this hotel. I come from an Eastern European country but I have never encountered such situations in any hotel in my native country! I wanted to leave these thoughts so that everyone can see the approach of the management of this hotel. The hotel is ok, it deserves its reputation, beautiful location but the way of approaching customers is very vile and ugly.
