Novotel Marseille Est Porte d'Aubagne

The staff was very professional and nice but the hotel needs serious renovation especially the rooms. The food at the restaurant was less than average.

The rooms are dated and need renovating to bring them to acceptable standard, TV is wonky, toilet seat is loose, toilet smells ,inadequate sockets could not plug vital equipment in without wire laid across whole floor creating trip hazard no socket for charging phones by beds usb type socket but didn't work correctly and also modern phones have switched to usb c. Pool was out of order for first two days but was the reason we selected this hotel over cheaper one. Toilet stinks of urine despite cleaners coming in every day so must be floor covering. First day cleaners went in they left the door not only unlocked but ajar😡. We asked for some coffee sachets for room you would think that would be easy task it took 20 mins to find some picture shows a trolley that was left in the corridor all day. Overall I am not impressed it was not good value for money.

Unfortunately this hotel does not credit to the Novotel brand. On the positive the room was clean, but it really needs either a renovation or knocking down and starting again. I haven’t seen anaglypta wallpaper and ceilings since the early 80’s - which I suspect is when the room was originally decorated. The bathroom is ancient and no mineral water in the room. which should have been included.
