Novotel Nancy

The staff is very hardworking and very friendly. Unfortunately, it seems that this hotel is a bit understaffed. We have been coming to this hotel for about 10 years every year and each year it becomes a bit more disappointing. the inner workings of the hotel, like the bathrooms and toilets, tend to show their age more often, buttons falling off and a minor leak, but the friendly staff very quickly helped us. The food had definitely changed over the years. For dinner I can recommend the small Ceasar salad, the large one is... A lot. The cheeseburger not so much. The desserts are very literal to their description, and not to my taste, but that has no effect on my review as that is personal. The breakfast buffet has definitely gone downhill over the years, no doubt because everything is getting more expensive. If you are at this hotel as a stop for a trip, there is a very large supermarket nearby.

Our family enjoyed taking advantage of the two-room family deal. The rooms were clean and comfortable and very dark at night thanks to their blackout curtains. I personally liked the heavily carpeted corridors. Breakfast was very good - plenty of variety and good quality fare. Unfortunately the pool that we hoped to enjoy was closed for the entire weekend, perhaps due to expected poor weather which never seemed to materialise. Reception service was quick and helpful. A word to the wise - the fee was not deducted from the deposit as we expected but was charged separately. We were frustrated to find that the bank reserve placed on our room deposit was not released until a full week after we checked out, so funds we had set aside for our trip were not available to us until we were halfway through it.

Car Park is Free and included cctv felt Safe and secure which is great, car park entrance is on your left opposite the ibis not well signposted but easy to come back round should you miss your turning. Rooms - feel new ok rooms no English to channels in case you want that Bar restaurant- bar you can sit round and restaurant on site Staff - the let down at this hotel is the staff especially at reception very rude and no customer service skills a smile and greeting guests explaining what’s on site etc would help
