Novotel Paris Est

I booked this hotel for a couple of nights with my partner and was pleased with the price but unfortunately on arrival we were told there was no water in the hotel until 5pm that day. This meant no use of the toilets in the room, shower or sink facilities. It was also like this on the day we were checking out so was unable to shower in the morning which was extremely disappointing. Reception staff were abrupt and rude but praise to the gentleman on the bar who was lovely, welcoming and in good spirits. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.

This hotel was not great. The service was okay, but the rooms left a lot to be desired. They were dirty. The shower needed to be deep cleaned months ago-- it looks fine on the surface, but the curtain has stains and the corners are nasty. Besides that, the room just feels dirty. Their AC system needs an upgrade too; it was super hot. I would recommend choosing a different hotel if possible.

Upon arrival, the lobby area is welcoming. But that’s it! When we entered the first room. The impression of a nice motel soon disappeared. The carpet was worn and the Toilet seat was broken. After contacting reception the toilet seat was admittedly replaced. But with one that was designed for a different toilet. So pooping was a like taking aim at the entry to a small bottle.. Next morning no hot water. Contacted reception. I left for the day thinking I’d have a shower in the late afternoon. When returning. Still no hot water. Three increasingly angry phone calls to reception ( surprise. I like to stay clean). We were changed to another room which reception seemed to think we’d be excited about as it had a better view of the abandoned buildings and motorway beneath. While the second room at least had hot water. The bed was uncomfortable and like the first room had a bottom sheet that did not fit. It was also very worrying that a cleaning supervisor decided to let herself into our room during the afternoon while my partner was sleeping. Overall for a novatel hotel. This one was the worst and a poor reflection on the company.
