I honestly couldn’t believe how great everything turned out after reading some not-so-good reviews — especially regarding the air conditioning and staff. I was very pleasantly surprised — because everything was absolutely perfect. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained, with a lovely view. It felt fresh, clean, and very comfortable — truly a pleasure to stay in. The staff were exceptional — incredibly polite, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything. I felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout my stay. The parking situation was also excellent, with a convenient and secure underground garage — very easy to access. As for the breakfast, it was very good! Nothing extravagant, but a solid and tasty Novotel-standard breakfast — comparable to what I’ve experienced at the Novotel in Krakow. Everything was fresh and well presented. I’m completely satisfied and will definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit — which is absolutely going to happen. No doubt about it: this will be my hotel of choice.
The circumstances of my stay are unusual as it wasn't pre-planned stay, it was last minute booking due to severely delayed flight (payed for by the airline). In total, I stayed in the hotel for about 6 hours but it was very comfortable room, decent size, comfy bed and clean and modern bathroom. In the morning i managed to grab breakfast, which was very decent. I will actually consider staying there next time i happen to be passing through Poznan.
My colleagues and I arrived about 2pm from the US. About 12 hours later, at 2am, the loud fire alarm went off, warning guests in Polish and English. I grabbed all my most important items and walked down 7 stories where I joined my colleagues. One colleague walked down 16 flights of stairs! We were outside on the grass for about 40 minutes. No employee from the hotel came to tell us it was OK to return. We began to return to the lobby. There was an entire sports team from Turkey, all in wheelchairs. Photo. How did they evacuate when you can't use the elevators? My colleagues and I had to check out two hours later, at 4 am. I never heard anyone at reception apologize for the gross inconvenience! That is not the way you run a hotel. Where was the manager on duty? I worked reception at various hotels for 11 years, so I know the procedures well. They were fortunate that their guests were calm and collected!
