Novotel Roma Est

We had the very nice and spacious Junior Suite with a large terrace. Perfect for a family with two children. The outdoor pool is well maintained and a very pleasant change in the heat. The breakfast has a good selection with something for everyone. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The distance to the main sights by car is about 20 minutes. We will book there again on our next trip to Rome.

Our stay at Novotel Roma Est was overall pleasant, with a few areas that could be improved. The hotel itself looks modern and clean, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Staff were polite and helpful, and check-in was smooth. The location is a bit outside the city center, which is something to keep in mind if you're planning to explore Rome. They have parking on site (we used the outdoor one). We didn't have breakfast there, because we wanted to be on time for the Colosseum, but we had dinner and all the others are the table complained about the food being salty. Mine (which was pork) was beautifully done. Facilities like the pool and gym were a nice bonus, though some areas felt slightly dated. It’s a solid option if you're looking for comfort and don’t mind being a little outside the main tourist spots. Overall, a good stay – not perfect, but reliable and comfortable for a short visit.

Because of hard access it’s better to reach the hotel during day time itself if going by metro; it might be more easily accessible from a taxi. We had a family room and it was very small, we were not even able to open our bags after two queen size bed. However, they easily refunded our money on cancelling the second day reservation. It’s probably better to plan ahead if planning on staying in Novotel.
