Very polite staff, clean room, safe environment and very close to the Cannes center, Gare the Cannes, shops and restaurants. The extra beds were comfy and clean for our kids. Air conditioning was excellent. Toilet was small but bathroom was big with two showers. Parking is available for $. We had to park on -6 floor underground, horrendous smell of sewage was unbearable but upper levels were good if space was available.

This hotel was a little expensive for what it was, generally it was a little run down (plates left outside room doors till 3pm, only one lift for the whole 8 floors, not nice smells near the kitchen area). Reception staff were nice but they looked overwhelmed, a lot of th time only 1 person was at the desk by themselves. They also don’t provide slippers and other mini amenities, you have to ask for it and when you do they either take a while or forget and you have to remind them. The rooms themselves are well kept and large, there is a mini kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave which is handy. The bathroom is fine, could do with modernisation, the separate toilet cubicle is a little claustrophobic, the thermostat seems to have issues in that it doesn’t reach the temperature it is set at, the lighting in the rooms isn’t great and the lack of plugs is a little annoying. The location is great, it is a short walk to La croisette and there are lots of shops and pharmacies near by.

Very poor experience. Front desk guys are gentle in general expect one lady that gave me a very rude and aggressive answer to my complaint. The hotel run out of towels! This is unacceptable. The house keeping put 2 towels and we were 4 in the family room. We all had to shower after a day at the beach but only had 2 towels. I called to ask for 2 more, the lady at the reception told me that they have none. I showed my frustration and she said, i quote, “je ne vais pas vous les sortir de mon chapeau”, meaning i can’t do a magic trick to bring it out to you. I’ve been to a lot of hotels in my life, a lot of them were from Accor and nobody showed me this level of disrespect. The housekeeping in the room was really bad, we had dust everywhere (closets, under the sinks, the carpets…). Back off of you have allergies, i had to take pills everyday to survive. The elevator is a topic in itself. There’s only one, it can fit 4 people only and there are 7 floors in the building. The waiting time is insane. If you have a flight to catch, you have to bring down your luggage before rush hour otherwise you’re screwed. Our kids many times used the stairs from the 5th floor, kids are often impatient. We asked if the hotel provides towels for the beach, they said yes but we only give them to you once. We don’t clean them. Imagine you back from the beach with 4 wet towels, often having some dirt on them and not even being able to dry them (no terrace, no balcony). We tried to dry them at the beach the day after but the towels didn't smell well, so we gave them back to the reception. Breakfast was ok and the waitresses were very kind. There are very few table indoor. The tables outdoor are not very hygienic. Pigeons are everywhere! The 1st day, i wanted to sit outside and started putting food on the table, pigeons attack the plates! So i had to run inside and serve new plates. Pigeons carry a lot of viruses, the least the hotel can do is to put a net or else to protect the terrasse. Family room size is descent, but bathroom was too small. Plus the closets were too tiny. We had to keep clothes in the luggage but it was very inconvenient to keep 4 luggages open on the floor all the time. We had to close at least 2 multiple times per day. The parking adjacent to the hotel is a plus if you have a car to park. It’s not connected to the hotel so you have to step out of the hotel. The elevator was out of service for 3 days. I had to climb 3 to 5 floors to get to the ground floor every time. I can carry on and on. I think that the hotel is too old and needs an urgent renovation. I think that the 4 stars is overrated, 3 stars can be acceptable. I’m gold member of accor so i know all accor ranges and travelled in many countries in accor hotels, i think this novotel is a shame for accor and should be listed out until it’s renovated because it’s hurting accor image.
