We got a good welcome by the hotel staff at the reception. The reception are is open and connected with the restaurant, which has a very picturesque view of the sea. There are rooms on the ground floor and then there is a first floor, thats it. I got a room on the ground floor and with only the sheer curtains in the room, I never felt private in there. The bed was comfortable , bathroom was fine but what surprised me was they did not offer any complimentary water bottles. Either go and drink from the containers in lobby or buy yourself a bottle for FJD 18. Happy with the food, the restaurant, the staff - staff had to be good because Fijians are very polite and friendly people. The only downside for me was the privacy and drinking water. Apart from that, it was a very pleasant stay.

Located about 20 minutes from Suva, it can be a good base for tourists with a car (like us). Breakfast had a lot of options (definitely have the banana bread) and the views at breakfast were amazing. WiFi is strong, gym has enough equipment to do a decent workout, and the staff were super friendly. We really only used this a base to come back to as we went out and explored other areas so I can't speak to its aspects as a resort to just hang out.

Note that Lami bay is a good 20 mts drive to Suva city center. Situated beautifully by the water, the location boasts stunning views, though the appeal is diminished by an outdated building. The property is divided into two wings: the left wing features older, motel-sized rooms that are particularly cramped. In room 205, where I stayed, there was no workspace available, which forced me to work in the reception/restaurant area. The right wing provides better accommodations with larger, more attractive rooms. However, even though I booked a deluxe ocean view room, I was placed in the older section. To make matters worse, on the first night, they began pressure cleaning at 10 PM directly beneath my room. I'm unsure who thought it was a good idea to clean at night, as the machine was extremely noisy. By midnight, I ended up calling the reception to request that they stop the cleaning. The breakfast experience was disappointing, with insects crawling, flies on the fruit, and unclean plates—issues I've noticed during my last three visits. On a positive note, the lobby and restaurant areas are quite nice, and there is ample parking available. Overall, it feels like a 3-star hotel trying to justify a 5-star price.
