Novotel Tainui Hamilton

Overall this was a nice hotel. Beds very comfortable and the room was clean although a bit small and quite tired (the carpet was coming up in places). Little things like no help with luggage at all, no information on check in or in the room, no water in the room, no instructions for the guest laundry so I did lose a few dollars and I was not offered a refund on this - instead the porter was at pains to very politely explain what I had done wrong (despite there being no instructions at all by the machines) I felt terrible but in the end I had to walk away from him droning on at me. Restaurant was excellent, although a little chilly at night.

We spent a night at Novotel. Similar to other reviews, don’t expect a friendly service from concierge or reception. However, staff at the bar was friendly and there are complimentary snacks to go with your drink. Room was clean and spacious. Bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Parking must be booked. There are dedicated spots where you can park for 15mins while you check in and unload your luggage’s. We had 3 luggage’s so that was very handy. Otherwise sky city next door(5min walk) offers overnight parking at $38.

This review only refers to food served at lunch. In one word, terrible! Very limited menu. Ordered fish tacos. Hard to tell if it was dried out, curled, cold, fish or chichen! Topped with a mouthful of wilted cabbage, no salsa, no lemon, no dressing. I'm glad we ordered some fries, they were nice, as was the waitress. I've had dinner there in the past, that was good ,but I won't give them a second chance.
