Spent one night here as Tours was a convenient stopping point for other activities in the region. Staff was friendly, room was clean. However, limited number of towels in the bathroom, no shower gel in the bottle in the shower, and the room was blazing hot. I turned the a/c on full blast as soon as I got in the room, but it did little to cool things off.
The hotel is conveniently located right next to Tours' main train station. The city itself is definitely worth a visit, with its well-maintained city center, vibrant neighborhoods, and rich history. The hotel offers secure underground parking at a reasonable price. However, in terms of amenities, cleanliness, and breakfast, it feels more like a lower-end Ibis. I regularly stay at Novotel hotels, but I have to say that this one doesn't live up to the standards of others in the Novotel chain.
My stay at this hotel was nothing short of frustrating. The front desk staff was extremely unhelpful and showed no concern for the inconvenience caused to guests. Upon check-in, I was given a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. After raising a complaint, I was moved to another room—only to find it significantly smaller than what I had booked. When I brought this up, the staff told me that since I had rejected the first room, I had no choice but to accept this one. After multiple rounds of complaints and back-and-forth discussions, I was finally assigned a third room, which still didn’t match my original booking. To make matters worse, the key card didn’t work, and I had to go back down to the front desk again. During all this, I had to move up and down with four large strollers seven times. Not once did the front desk staff offer help or even an apology—in fact, they were laughing during the entire ordeal, which was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. The final room had just one towel in the bathroom and a single 500ml bottle of water—completely inadequate for two guests. Overall, the service was appalling, and the attitude of the staff made an already stressful experience even worse. I would not recommend staying here.
