Novum Hotel Kavalier

I was here during a business trip and would give Two stars only. One for the location and the second one for the friendly staff. I had to change my room when I arrived because it smelled like a smokers room although it is a non-smoker hotel. However, the second room was not better. Tiny sink which was clogged. Loose power sockets which is quite dangerous in my eyes especially in the bathroom. There was no shower tray so the bathroom got flooded every time you took a shower even if you showered carefully. The furniture was run-down and cheap. The desk in my room was full of big scratches, also the doors and the door frames. The breakfast was cheap in terms of quality. The breakfast room was overheated and the food like cheese and the cold cuts seemed not to be cooled. The coffee could not be taken from a coffee machine. Instead, there was only one big thermos bottle on the buffet where everybody could get his cup of coffee. In summary I had the feeling they are trying to make money with lowest efforts and investment. Wouldn’t recommend to go here again. I also recommended our travel department to remove this hotel from our booking list for Vienna trips.

Tamara, the hostess, gave us a horrible welcoming service. She should not be working at a hotel. She had a bad attitude towards us and our simple questions (where the city center is, how to connect to the WiFi and what are the highlights of Vienna). She is cold and makes you feel bad about staying at the hotel.

The worst hotel I've ever seen. In reality looks completely different. It's old, dirty, smelly and destroyed. I could not fall asleep there for a minute. There's a constant noise as there is a hole under the front door and you can see the light and hear the noise from the corridor. I found someone's else hair on the sheets. Bathroom is full of mold and the bathroom sink and bathtub are leaking water on the floor. Everything is used, dirty, sticky, destroyed... It's not worth that money. I asked at reception if there's another room available. I went to see 2 other rooms and it was only getting worse. This hotel is a nightmare.
