Now Emerald Cancún

For starters, me and my family loved our time at Now Emerald!!! Upon seeing some negative reviews before we arrived, I knew after our stay I needed to come leave a good review for this awesome resort. Some areas of the resort did need upgrading and the rooms need some updating but they are set to shutdown for those upgrades after the summer months. Overall, everything was great! Even though some things were a little more rundown, everything was truly great and clean! I have been to several all-inclusive resorts and this one is by far one of my favorites. In 2016 we stayed at Now Sapphire, a sister resort, and we absolutely loved it so we hoped to have a similar stay at Now Emerald. We just got back a little less than a week ago. We do an annual family vacation each year during spring break and this year we stayed at this lovely gem! During our stay, we celebrated 2 birthdays and everyone made us feel so celebrated! There was a total of 6 of us, and everyone was so accommodating and kind towards us. We truly felt like family during our stay. Upon arrival, we were given champagne and water. When we checked in we were given a great opportunity to upgrade all our rooms to ocean front swim-outs, and we did!! This was the best decision we could have made because the views were breathtaking!! When I close my eyes, it’s like I’m still there! My whole family booked spa treatments, and we all had great experiences! Best massage I’ve ever had. The food here was amazing, and some of the best I’ve had when staying at an all-inclusive resort. I truly enjoyed every meal! During our stay, my husband booked us a private dinner by the beach. This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend!! We chose the premium meal, and the steak was very good! I would like to give a few special thank yous’ to people at the resort that really made our time there unbelievable!! Alex at the main pool, was amazing and so kind. He truly made sure all our needs were met and is overall a great person!! Marcos on the entertainment team has some neat card tricks (ask him about it) and he always made sure to make us feel welcomed, whether it was at the pool or sports bar! Carlos in the preferred bar makes an awesome cocktail! Leif, the manager at the Mexican restaurant, was so kind and always greeted our family with such kindness! He also made sure my dad’s birthday dinner was met with a very special treat! Marcos, our waiter at the Mexican restaurant, was so funny and accommodating. Thank you to everyone at the resort for making our stay so special and great. We truly cannot wait to return!

check in service for members was a but slow and I waited long after another guest. I was traveling from another hotel dreams jade, and there should have been some level of expectancy for a member moving hotels. I came here for the low price and Blue ocean water which was not safe for swimming but was Nice to look at. I would have opted for a balcony room to get fresh air. the elevators were a bit slow at times and too small for the resort. musky men walking in hot weather getting 2 or 3 in a elevator is a bit uncomfortable. The buffet was a nightmare and room service was usually cold. With all of the options in Cancun I would stay away from this place as it attracts the local and thrifty clientele. Some of the restaurants were good like the Chinese upstairs and the steak I had down by the pool. the kids club is ghetto and out of date. nothing too close to walk to. the pools were refreshing and there's food by the pool too, its just okay.

I knew not to expect the standards I’m used to at more upscale resorts but my first impression as I entered this resort was that cleanliness was not a priority. This resort has tons of glass and mirrors ant they were all dirty, and the same prints were there the entire week. This includes the glass on the doors of the Preferred check in and bar area. We chose to do preferred this time because we liked the idea of the preferred member beach. Well that turned out to be a waste because the resort allows the beach vendors (you know the ones who are ALWAYS trying to sell you stuff) to hang out on the beach chairs right next to you!! The wait staff was bringing them beer and food and they were using the beach showers!! Def not a Preferred experience in my opinion if those guys get the same perks for free and they are clearly not guests. I will say the beach itself was absolutely amazing as was the service. The food was hit and miss. Italian and Mexican restaurants were great. The Barefoot grill was not good! The buffet was just ok. Rooms are old and worn, do not expect much. They also never quite leave the right amount of towels. The mini bar however was stocked daily. We prob won’t be back.
