I’ve always stayed in the center of Berlin during my trips, but this time my gf decided to book something different and we absolutely loved the area. Great vibes! We got in with a code, the room was comfy and clean, and I really liked the design too. New favorite spot!
I love the welcoming red color design. Along with the BGM, it makes a coffee or tea time cozy. Nice room, not missing anything, and transportation right in front was a game changer when going to visit places.
We booked over a week at the Numa in the large suite. We initially arrived and were very impressed with a large room with a very large balcony. It was all downhill from there. First, the fire alarm went off three separate times during our stay there, with a 15/20 minute wait for the fire department to come and turn it off. Second, the room codes kept not working, leaving us waiting two separate times for their customer service team to respond to us to reset the code in order to get into our room. Third, and the worst of all, they asked if we would move rooms half way through our stay for “maintenance.” We politely obliged and said we could move rooms, and asked if the new room would be of a similar standard or the large layout with the balcony. No one got back to us. We followed up again for more details of what time exactly we would need to move and what the door code to the new room would be. No response again. Followed up again, and no response. Then the cleaning lady come the day they asked us to move telling us we needed to move rooms. Lucky for them we happened to be there at that specific time to pack up all our belongings and move to the new room, but still without any confirmation of what the new code would be to enter, so we were essentially stuck in the new room until they confirmed a new code. The new room was also much smaller with a very small balcony, so that was an added layer of disappointment. When I expressed my anger at the situation we were offered a 20% discount for the one night affected - which works out to about 30 euro for all the headaches they caused. In the end, the maintenance was just them coming to do a photo shoot of the room for their ads. The nail in the coffin for a bad experience. It’s a shame because the hotel had nice, clean facilities, in a decent location for a fair price. But the hotel has major kinks to work out in their “no staff on site” model. Especially when you want to start moving guests, you should at least pay attention to the communication with them, and probably have a real manager on site to come and speak with us and clear up the situation. Won’t be coming back here.
