Nut Grove Boutique Hotel

A prestigious Manor with immaculate and professional attention to your welcome, the beautiful kept grounds (very much a Californian - Mexican style), hotel room and other details. After a five and a half hour drive, a relaxing afternoon spent by the pool was fantastic! The personnel were very discrete, helpful and professional. The large, independent honeymoon “lodge” with patio onto the central gardens was more than comfortable. They had very beautifully decorated our room with flower petals. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Highly recommended!

I was lucky enough to kick off my journey through South Africa with a two night stay at Nut Grove Manor. After a warm welcome by the friendly staff, I was shown to my suite (Cashew Suite). My accommodation was beautiful, spotless and bright - all suites come with a private entrance and patio and are beautifully furnished. The manor itself is tranquil and the pool and the lush garden/park invites one to kick back and relax. The restaurant offers delicious food and local drinks - breakfast is either served as a buffet or at your table. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this estate!

Nut Grove Manor offers a serene retreat not far from the main road, striking a perfect balance between accessibility and seclusion. The property's setting exudes a calm, peaceful atmosphere that's immediately relaxing. Our Luxury Suite was extremely well-appointed with modern amenities, which was a pleasant surprise, albeit somewhat at odds with the historic setting we had anticipated. The contemporary touches, while comfortable, slightly diminished the expected old-world charm. The culinary experience was a highlight. Dinner was outstanding, and the staff's thoughtfulness in providing a high-quality takeaway breakfast for our early departure was much appreciated. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with a refreshing drink, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The individual staff encountered was professional and accommodating. The manor's atmosphere and ambiance were lovely, including well-maintained common areas. However, we did experience an unusual sense of isolation. It felt as though we were the only guests, which was slightly disconcerting, especially when we learned that reception closed at 6 pm, and the notion of no one else being around was a bit unnerving. One minor oddity was the non-complimentary mini-bar, a departure from our experiences at all other accommodations on this trip. The requirement to pay for items at check-in due to the early reception closure felt somewhat restrictive (over a matter of a few dollars for a soda, in particular.) Overall, Nut Grove Manor provides a beautiful, tranquil stay with excellent dining. While it may not fully deliver on the historic manor experience some might expect, it compensates with modern comforts. It's an excellent choice for those seeking a peaceful retreat, provided you're comfortable with a more self-sufficient experience.
