This accommodation is well priced for those on a budget. Definitely a central location, rooms are comfortable and the staff are helpful. Parking is relatively cheap. Photos of rooms online may not be very accurate so make sure you know what sort of room you are getting.
Under “normal” circumstances my review might have been higher as the location and rooms were both very good for my purposes (easy access to central city and South bank as well as clean). The in-room laundry was a bonus too. However … … the construction noise - all through the day AND night was simply too much. I have several videos from multiple night after midnight (I won’t post) and in addition everyone I talked to on the phone referred to the unbelievable levels of background noise. This is likely not under the hotel’s control but there should at a minimum be curfew hours on construction and fines for non-comnpliance. And, the hotel informing guests in advance. Though, I doubt any guest would be able to anticipate the noise level, persistence and intensity of the noise. The construction may be in prep for hosting the 2032 Olympics but the city’s reputation will suffer if visitors now leave with negative impressions. Back to the hotel, the front desk check in was fine and Steve tried to be helpful, even trying (but unable) to find a room “further” away from the construction (though how much less noise I would hear I would not be able to say). Other encounters with front desk, especially at check out, were tortured and robotic. I was the only person checking out but the person-to-person engagement was minimal. No “hospitality” whatsoever from someone in “hospitality.” It was one of the weirdest and certainly briefest checkouts I’ve experienced and detracted even further from my opinion of the hotel.
Photos are a little deceiving, our room was quite old, looked nothing like these pictures, however it was clean and comfortable in a good location. Reception staff were hard to converse with. We had a question about the room and they told us there was no booking under our name and we must’ve had the wrong hotel, yet we were already checked in with the key in our hands. Overall, good price for the location and quality. A bit noisy from the construction on the street. Beds and pillows were very comfy.
