Oaks Broome Hotel

It was a very comfortable room. Air conditioning and fan provided and toaster, iron, and ironing board. The usual tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant was a useful addition but it was quite expensive. There were two pools of different sizes. The staff were so obliging and able to problem solve many problems.

We had booked a one bedroom apartment ( room 1123). It had a private patio and direct access to the big pool. There are 2 pools to choose from. The apartment was comfortable but some of the features were outdated. The kitchen had everything we needed. There is access to a laundry on site but unfortunately there are only 2 washing machines and 3 dryers that were constantly used. More machines needed for such a huge complex. It would be beneficial if they installed machines that took credit cards and sent you a txt message when your laundry was done, like some other hotels. The breakfast was basic and this could be improved. More fruit options, or vary the choices offered. The dinners were great. The staff were very professional. The town bus stop is very close to the hotel, as is the museum Roebuck bay and Matsos brewery.

There is no shower screen & the bathroom gets flooded every time - the tiled floor is extremely slippery and dangerous. My husband is over six feet tall and the bathroom mirror is 5 feet tall. Fun shaving when the mirror is not over the hand basin. The breakfast was pretty much all gone by the time I swung by and if you’re looking for gluten free - good luck! It took 34 times trying to get outer door of room to work. The exit gate wouldn’t work at all and a fellow resident used his card for us saying ‘this happens all the time’ Oakes - PLEASE get the outmoded security system to rooms & park park upgraded.
