Oaks Mackay Rivermarque Hotel

I stay there on overnight business trips. The staff are very helpful and courteous. The rooms are always clean with the appropriate condiments. Great breakfast and decent coffee served in the in-house restaurant. I’ll book in again next month.

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at the Oaks. The staff from start to check out were quite nice. Very responsive and kind. Only small thing I could think about was they were not stuck with toothpaste which I had forgotten. The rooms themselves were quite lovely I like the minimal aesthetic but it might not be for everyone. Everything was nice and clean, and the room smelled like citrus when I first walked into it. It might have been the cleaning products. Nevertheless the room was quite spacious. The thing that really stuck out to me though were the huge windows besides the bed. I love waking up the sunrise and sunlight so this was an absolute dream for me. I felt so warm in the morning. The view from the room is also quite lovely mixing a little bit of the city landscape as well as the nearby ocean. Only other thing I can really think about was some of the taps, shower head, and seal around the shower we're a little bit dirty and had a buildup of sediment on it. Be nice if that could be checked out.

Rooms we stayed in were nice and luxurious, nice big beds and beautiful bathrooms. Hotel staff was friendly and the adjacent cafe where we went for breakfast had great food. However, perhaps a weird complaint to make... but I've never been more disappointed with toilet paper before. Got a luxurious room for a luxurious price with all the bells and whistles, to find out bathroom's were stocked with half-ply toilet paper. It was see-through. See-through toilet paper in one of their more expensive rooms. Disappointing. Pool was nice, but the wall with fountains looked like it needed some updating and refreshing & water was NOT heated. Shame, as the outdoor temperature was lovely, but the water being too cold to enjoy. Breakfast was lovely in the nice cafe belonging to the hotel. Had booked with breakfast included, but non the less they tried to make us pay for the breakfast, until we spoke up and questioned it. No big deal, but if we'd missed it, we'd have paid double.
