This campsite at Oakrest will remain in our memories as one of the most spectacular locations on all our travels. Stunning views of the mountains. Total tranquility next to the water. Lush green grass under your feet. Total bliss. Power points and water available. Super nice ablutions and kitchen. Very convenient to have the washing machine. There was no tumble drier when we were there. They even have a communal camping fridge, kettle & microwave oven. The owners were very hospitable. The hiking trail was beautiful. Surprisingly, this campsite was more affordable than most others on our tour and pensioners get 25% discount. We will definitely stay here again.
Oakrest is an oasis of peace and tranquility. We stayed in Chenin Blanc cottage which has the most incredible view of the valley to the Towerkop peak. We cycled, hiked, rested. Philip and Louisa’s are helpful and accommodating hosts and the Ladismith landscape was breathtaking and abundant after rains and we thank all for accomodating us so graciously.
