Typical residence inn in all of the best ways! Excellent location that is really close to the airport and driving distance to most things you'd need. The property itself is quite nice. The rooms are good and what you would expect, nice kitchenette, solid bathroom and spacious living area. I'd highly recommend for a short stay, long stay or anything in between. Staff was nice and provided freshly made cookies everyday.
My stay at Residence Inn Sunnyvale was one of my favorites. I really value privacy, peace, cleanliness, and convenience, and my suite checked all the right boxes. Room 612 was spacious, cozy, and easy to access. I enjoyed ordering delivery and having a fully stocked kitchen and large table to eat at comfortably. I appreciated the thoughtful layout: the iron and ironing board came in handy, and I liked having two closets (one smaller closet by the entry and a roomy two-door closet). The shower had shelves for my toiletries, along with full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The sink vanity also had drawers that fit all my makeup and skincare products. The bed was clean and comfortable, and everything in the room worked as expected. While the overall experience was great, I’ll mention a few downsides for others who may be sensitive to these things. There was an unpleasant smell when I first entered, something like wet dog or musty carpet. I suspect it may have come from the older carpeting. One of the bathroom drawers had a stain or discoloration that made it look dirty (I lined it with a paper towel and it was fine). There were also a few signs of general wear and tear, but nothing major. Overall, I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives, and I would happily return.
COORDINATION between the staffs of this hotel is so bad. We requested a late check out the night before, and it was approved over the phone by the front desk as well as on the Marriott Bonvoy app. But the following day, house keeping knocked at our door at 12pm and 10 mins later, front desk called asking why we still haven’t checked out. 😑 All that happened while we were asleep so it was a pretty bad disturbance. Room isn’t soundproof and furnitures are outdated, but it was clean. I like how it has a well-equipped kitchen. Also bear in mind that if your room is on the second floor and downstairs guest is cooking, you will smell a lot of it from your room lol! Breakfast is ok and location is pretty good. Please be better when it comes to passing down your guests’ requests to the next shift.
