We absolutely loved our stay at Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Azabu Tokyo. This was by far the best place we stayed in all of Japan. The apartment was brand new, spotlessly clean, and incredibly spacious. Having a washer and dryer in the room was such a luxury and made travelling with children so much easier. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional staff. Every single team member we met was warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. Their hospitality felt heartfelt, not scripted, and they consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Their English was excellent, and their customer service was truly world class. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, peaceful yet central, with a fantastic little coffee shop downstairs serving the best coffee we had in Japan. Right across the street was a great restaurant, Bistro Chick, which we really enjoyed. We felt completely at home here. It was a refreshing and relaxing experience after some less welcoming stays elsewhere. If we are ever back in Tokyo, this is exactly where we will stay again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and impeccable service.
We stayed at Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Azabu Tokyo for 5 days and 4 nights in a Twin Deluxe Room, traveling as a family of five, including our two young children (ages 5 and 3) and our nanny. The stay was wonderful and incredibly convenient for families, offering a mix of comfort, practical amenities, and great location. The hotel is perfectly located in a quiet and peaceful area of Tokyo, just 250 meters from Azabu-Juban Station, which connects to the Toei Oedo Line. It's only one stop to Roppongi and five stops to Shinjuku, making it very accessible for both sightseeing and local exploration. The area around the hotel is calm, with a mix of residential and office buildings, which made for a peaceful stay away from the crowds.
I booked this hotel for my parents who were visiting Japan for the first time. Unfortunately, our trip didn’t start on a good note because of the front desk staff’s attitude on the very first day. Since my parents don’t speak English or Japanese, I made the reservation for them. However, upon check-in, the staff told me my parents needed to make the reservation using their own account because I wasn’t the one staying — something I found very confusing. I would have understood if it were a strict hotel policy, but the way it was communicated to us lacked any sense of hospitality or understanding. We had originally planned to stay at the same hotel again on our return leg of the trip, but after this unpleasant experience, we chose a different hotel instead. We booked a king-size room — it was on the smaller side but fairly clean. The view from the balcony was nice; you could see Tokyo Tower. Breakfast was served in the café on the first floor with only four set options. In short, if you’re looking to experience the warm hospitality Japan is known for, I would not recommend this hotel.
