It is a very nice place to stay if you need to be in kuningan area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable! The bed is literally like a cloud! It hugs you so you sleep like a baby. The pillows are comfortable size and thickness. The Team is very kind, caring and professional. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommending this hotel to everyone. We’ll be happy to come back one day. 🩷
Disappointing Stay at Oakwood Suits Kuningan Jakarta – Never Again I rarely leave (negative) reviews, but my experience at Oakwood Suites Kuningan Jakarta warrants a warning to future guests. First and foremost, the hotel’s dry cleaning service ruined an expensive suit—multiple holes and clear signs of mishandling. The “repair” job they attempted was amateurish and frankly made things worse. To add insult to injury, the only “compensation” offered was an extra night at the hotel (after I insisted multiple times that they should compensate me, in the beginning they wouldn’t offer me anything)—something I definitely didn’t want. A refund or proper accountability? Nowhere to be found. The management is in now way flexible about this, and claims that all damages were already present when handing the suits in for dry cleaning, which clearly wasn’t the case. There were only two spots with existing damages (small or on the inside of the suit), and the suit came back with more than triple (including holes..). Feels wrong to be accused of “lying”, as if I would want to make advantage of them. The hotel itself feels like faded glory. Everything is a bit outdated and lacks attention to detail. It’s all very “almost nice,” but just misses the mark in every way. The atmosphere is perhaps the worst part. Utterly soulless. Cold grey/beige interiors, empty walls, and no warmth or character anywhere. At times, the hotel felt practically empty and on the verge of closing. One of the elevators for example was constantly ‘out of service’ (I’ve stayed for 2,5 weeks..). If you haven’t paid a deposit (because it wasn’t technically possible upon arrival), prepare for awkward and pushy interactions with the staff—they insist on immediate payment for things like meals. What makes things annoying, is that sometimes they say it is possible to pay contactless, and sometimes they say it’s not. So I had to explain them that it is possible, and then all of a sudden it is. It’s stressful and unpleasant, especially in what’s supposed to be a relaxing environment. In the restaurant, smoking is somehow still allowed indoors, and the (occasionally live) music is obnoxiously loud. It all adds to an uncomfortable, chaotic vibe. On a positive note: the staff are friendly in one-on-one interactions and very keen on helping with requests. The cleaning of the rooms is done adequately as well. But sadly, that’s the only real redeeming quality. This was a thoroughly disappointing experience. Oakwood Suites Kuningan Jakarta is far from the quality it seems to advertise, and I would absolutely not return. Spend your money elsewhere.
- Comfortable bed and pillows. - The rooms were clean but had very little natural light. - The noise from nearby mosque woke me up at 5am everyday. - The pool was dirty and doesn’t seem to get cleaned regularly. - The air conditioning requires cleaning - the air circulation is full of dust and it clogged up the sinuses. - The gym assistant kept on reserving equipment for her clients although most of the time the equipments were not utilised. This was during peak hours when so many people were waiting for gym equipment to become vacant. - The vegetarian/vegan choices were minimal to none but the few vegan foods I tried during buffet were prepared well. - It would have been helpful if the food labelling identified vegetarian foods. For example, there were jellies but unsure if they contained gelatine.
