First of all, the reviews on Google totally misled me, which is why I want to provide a more honest and accurate assessment of the hotel. The hotel deserves 3 stars. We were given a room in a small house, not a bungalow, which has long been in need of renovation. The room was small for the three of us, with the only window also serving as the door. There was a small wardrobe, and at night we could hear people walking up and down the stairs. We were also visited by cockroaches twice. Cleaning was unreliable and only done upon request, and the towel exchange seemed to follow its own unclear rules. The hotel's surroundings and location are very good, and everything around was well-maintained. The food was good — I recommend focusing on the fish dishes. The entertainment and the other restaurants were of a high standard. The service was slow and timid, but eventually got the job done. There were plenty of sunbeds by the pool and on the beach, but those on the beach were already somewhat worn out. There was no heated water in the pools (in April).
I stayed at Oasis Atlantico Belorizonte with the all-inclusive option, and overall, the experience was disappointing. The restaurants are not always open, so it’s impossible to eat whenever you want. You have to stick to fixed meal times, which is frustrating. On the bright side, the bars are always open. The food quality at lunch was good, but in the afternoon, it dropped significantly. Although staff was present, there was a lack of proper control, which made the environment feel noisy and chaotic. It was hard to relax. I also felt very uncomfortable with the constant staring and inappropriate comments from men around the hotel. It was honestly disturbing. The only real positive was the beach club, which was well set up and enjoyable. If you’re planning a trip to Sal, I would recommend staying at Oasis Salinas Sea instead. It’s a much better experience.
Great beach bar but you can’t use the loungers unless you’re a guest. They prefer to have the place empty than let you pay for a drink and enjoy the beach :) the bar staff told us it was ok to use the loungers, we explicitly said we’re not guests, they said it was ok so we got the drinks and were kicked out shortly after. Leaving this here in case anyone else needed it as there’s no sign anywhere that says loungers are exclusive to guests, so you don’t pay for a drink and get kicked out!
