Occidental Mar Menor

We stayed at Occidental Mar Menor as a family in August and were truly impressed by the fantastic staff - friendly, welcoming, and always going the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable. Their warmth and attentiveness really made the difference to our holiday. The pools are great, and the hotel is modern, clean, and stylish - Air Con even in the communal areas was ice cold. The buffet is more like a canteen than a restaurant and often chaotic with young children running around - food however was always hot, plentiful, and practical, with nightly themes. Branded spirits on the all-inclusive are a nice touch. For most of our stay, ice cream was only available as a small pot from the pool bar, but towards the end of our holiday they introduced a wider selection to buy - this small change really added to our enjoyment. Noise can occasionally carry in the corridors after entertainment or the bar closes, but overall the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The hotel stands alone (in an area clearly planned for multiple hotels, surrounded by empty plots and quiet roads) giving it a peaceful, uncrowded feel that’s a refreshing contrast to the busy, chaotic vibe of La Manga. In summary a stylish, welcoming base for a family holiday, made special by the wonderful team who work so hard to look after guests.

Great pools, modern and clean hotel with friendly staff. Only minus is the beach, but then again the area lacks the chaotic low class tourist feel of La Manga - so more stylish.
