Ohtels Campo De Gibraltar

Just spent two nights here for a wedding in La Linea. We had a great stay but I think the hotel is lacking some touches that make it a 3* rather than 4* Firstly, the location is great for visiting Gibraltar but there's not a lot immediately around the hotel. It's a short walk into the centre of town. We had great views of the rock and harbour from the balcony in the room, which was also very spacious. The hotel is pretty tired in general and could do with a make over but it was spotlessly clean. Room was fine (has a mini fridge which is a bonus) but my husband's bed was broken. I was disappointed to see that the pool was still closed in May despite it being full of clean water which made it pretty inviting in the heat. The staff were all very friendly but it was often difficult to get served at the bar as staff would wander off and do something else meaning you had to wait for someone to notice you wanted to order. There was also no option to just have a coffee in the morning without paying the buffet price, which didn't interest us. The coffee machine in reception was broken meaning we had to go out into town to find one. All in all a decent hotel for the price we paid but I'd consider staying elsewhere on my next trip to La Linea.

In general, very happy with this hotel. If you're fortunate enough, you'll get a view of the harbour and Gibraltar rock. The service from the staff was great, very polite and helpful. The hotel does offer storage for luggage if you arrive before check in and also hold it once you've checked out. The pool was however was out of service until May, we went in March and had it not be chucking it down with rain, I'd have wanted to jump in that! The room had a huge bed and it was very comfy, plenty of storage space in the wardrobe. A little TV with a couple of English channels, no option to connect anything but that wasn't really an issue. Aside from the room needing a paint touch up, it was fine and the balcony was welcome. We didn't use the lunch or dinner but had breakfast and that was really the only negative experience, all the food was cold, beans, egg, the lot. Honestly though, aside from that, the location, service and quality for the price really was worth it.

Hotel is huge, but swimming pool very small. Except of that, the only relevant hotel in La Linea for those who wants to discover for day or two Gibraltar. Border crossing is just 15min away. Hotel was very clean, room big, very quiet, bed comfortable, just pillow not what I'm used to.. To my request, upon availability, I got requested room on higher (5th) floor with view to Gibraltar Rock. Breakfast room was for 250 guests, but never full, and staff very quick. Always fully stocked with huge variety of food for everyone. Altogether, if you want to visit Gibraltar, that the place. I wouldn't stay here for pool vacation for example as the pool is very small and probably in season, very crowded. The only negative thing: WIFI - in my room on 5th floor the WIFI was only near the room door. WIFI was very weak. Not so convenient, a bit disappointing.
