We got a room on the second story, facing the lagoon. Totally worth it! As well as the 2nd story is perfect because that’s where all the shops and access to the inside water park is. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave a vibe that they loved their job. We also are ate at the pizza place inside the indoor water park. It was a little greasy, but very delicious! And fairly priced. Would highly recommend bringing some water shoes or some flip flops as it is hot on the concrete and some of the areas have textured concrete or coverings for grip for safety. If you don’t have tough, calloused feet, you will want something! Lots of walking! The indoor waterpark was more enjoyable than the outside, but that is because we were more interested in the slides, than the beach. We are already thinking about the next visit we will take here!
I recently stayed at this resort and was genuinely impressed with many aspects of the experience. The entire property was clean and well maintained, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere from the moment we arrived. One of the best parts was that the resort wasn’t overcrowded we never had to fight for pool chairs or deal with long wait times at restaurants, which made for a much more peaceful vacation. A particular highlight was the 21+ bar area overlooking the lagoon. It’s a beautiful, serene spot that’s perfect for unwinding in the evening with a cocktail while watching the sunset. The staff in that area were friendly and attentive, and it added a very nice adults-only touch to the overall experience. Unfortunately, I did have a frustrating issue that I feel other travelers should be aware of.. I was charged twice for my room. While mistakes can happen, I’ve yet to receive a refund. This has put a damper on what was otherwise a great stay. I strongly recommend future guests keep a close eye on their credit card statements and confirm charges with the front desk at checkout to avoid similar issues. All in all, it’s a beautiful resort with a lot to offer but be cautious when it comes to billing.
We're currently enjoying our time at OKANA, and the kids are having an absolute blast! Sean at the front desk made our check-in experience truly delightful. As frequent visitors to water parks like Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari, we found that the atmosphere here is quite different for our family. If you're planning a trip with your family, it's important to note that there are no microwaves, irons, or ironing boards available in the resort. This is something we wish we had known in advance, particularly since we live in Texas and Great Wolf Lodge is just 45 minutes away with these amenities included upon request. While we’ve enjoyed the experience of trying out something new, we feel that these amenities would have significantly influenced our decision to visit. Overall, it’s been a memorable trip, but we might consider other options for future family getaways.
