Okinawa Kariyushi Beach Resort Ocean Spa

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The rooms were spacious but a bit worn and in need of renovation. The pool area was large, with plenty of sun loungers available. There were also enough lifeguards and other staff present. The hotel also has indoor pools and hot tubs. During peak hours, there was a 15–30 minute wait for breakfast, and some items occasionally ran out. The selection was also somewhat limited. Good parking space near the hotel.

If you are an ardent traveller and know hotels this place will do. As most “resorts” in Okinawa it is tired. Many parts of the hotel are over grown and unused. There is an indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools. All pools are staffed with lifeguards and towels. Staff are polite and to an extent capable of speaking English. Food is good. There is a 24 hour Lawson, which is a short hotel shuttle ride away. As a traveler you will find this a solid 3 star.

Disappointed…I’m currently staying here on our last night, and while the previous nights were genuinely enjoyable, this final experience has unfortunately left a sour impression. Up until now, the service and atmosphere had been great. However, tonight, the closer parking lot was full except for spaces reserved for pregnant and disabled guests. When we informed the staff that my wife is pregnant, we were told to park in a farther lot down a steep hill and wait for a shuttle. After parking, the shuttle departed before we could board. With our young child and my pregnant wife, and considering it was already 10 PM, we had no idea how long it would be before another shuttle arrived. Not wanting to take that risk so late at night, we walked back up the hill to the hotel and found an empty reserved space that we should have been allowed to use. When we explained the situation, the staff apologized and claimed they hadn’t heard us mention the pregnancy, but offered no meaningful resolution beyond moving the car. The lack of empathy or effort to make things right was disappointing, especially after such a positive stay up to that point. Because of how poorly this was handled, I can’t recommend this hotel. A single night may seem minor, but when guest care falls apart at the end, it’s hard to walk away with a good impression.
