This was the best hotel I stayed in during my entire trip to Turkey thus far. This means a lot considering that the hotel I stayed in right before this one was charging me 300 USD per night and this one was 1/10 of that price. But this one was so much better in terms of quality and service. The breakfast was amazing, and what you may not know is that they have an amazing rooftop terrace with a killer view! I came to this hotel instead of the other options based on the google reviews and I'm so so so happy that I did. Please do not hesitate from booking this place! Mardin is so beautiful that I am sure to go back and when I do, I will be staying here again!
The room we've had didn't have any windows, it's not for claustrophobic people. The walls are thick and made out of natural stone, therefor it feels humid. You can turn the AC on and the air can circulate through an evacuation pipe they've installed in the room. The bathroom has an automatic evacuation system that works well. Our shower head was catastrophic, water splashing all over the place. Luckily there was a Turkish bath. The water was more luke warm than warm. The owner explained that he'd only turn on the water heater on certain times as the energy prices sky rocketed in Turkey. As from then we knew when there was hot water, and we didn't had to bath cold no more. The breakfast is a good and fresh treat. The staff will help you whenever they can. This is a great place to stay.
Stayed there as a group. The hotel staff went out of their way regarding our food preferences and other requests. Hopefully the hotel management will invest in the rooms, especially the hygiene part. It's not a nice feeling to have stone crumbs on your pillow and a broken glass lamp shade above your head. Also, reading previous reviews, as much as I understand saving electricity, I don't understand doing it at my expense. Invest in good electricals, sun batteries, efficient pumps etc.
