After nearly 3 weeks here, I can say that my stay has been pleasant and comfortable. The staff lovely and the outdoor grounds enjoyable to spend time in. Also, so much to see and do in just walking distance from my room. Passing by or here for a while, I recommend the 'Old Willyama' motel.

It is mid March 2025 and I had a week long stay at this place with a number of other people in our group. It is was a mixed experience in my ground floor room. The Good The bed was firm but comfortable. The TV was big but had occasional reception issues. I dont know if that is a common problem in Broken Hill. The room was clean and they even gave you a couple of Robert Timms coffee sachets each day to spare you suffering Nescafe 43 coffee. There is a microwave and other cutlery so you can do some self catering and eat takeaway. There is no kitchenette. You are within five minutes walk to the main part of town, and a little further to a decent grocery store. There are some takeaways in Oxide Street (Bernels) and The Kitchen that would do well anywhere. Bernels is comparatively cheap and they have hand cut potato chips. The restaurant attached to the motel has a decent continental breakfast, though I would not recommend the Chinese food there. The shower is hot and the flow is very good. Adjustment to your tastes was quite easy. Room cleaning is done every day bar Sundays. The Bad The internet was unreliable and at times non existent. If you dont have your own Telstra based Wi Fi you may not be happy. The management at the Motel blamed the crappy Wi Fi on local services when I raised it with them. Not true. They need to fix it. There is good Wi Fi at the Demo and Workies clubs and it is free. Coffee milk is of the UHT variety. Long stays surely fresh milk can be provided. The bathroom light was linked to the external fan. That is reasonable to keep that room fresh, however not when the fan is dirty and makes a racket that would rattle your teeth. Nothing much was done about that when raised with management. Mid night use of the toilet was done in the dark to spare my partner and other residents in the place. There are lots of thorny things that like to attach to your shoes. Wipe your feet thoroughly as the thorns plant themselves in the carpet and will hurt your feet should you tread on them. The Ugly Not much to report here except that if you are in a ground floor room and are a light sleeper you may wake up to the tingle of those above you taking a wee in the morning and a few other noises. Not sure what can be done there. The motel displays some awards from Trip Advisor but maybe that also reflects on the quality of other motels in the town. Overall it is a reasonable quality motel. For me I think an upstairs room might prove a better option.

Avoid this hotel. No hot water. They are aware they have an issue with the hot water service, but are still happy to take your money.
