Very beautiful, lovely place. Quiet and secluded with a nice pool, yoga studio, bouldering wall, slack line and outdoor gym. Close to beautiful hikes in the area as well as climbing. A beautiful place to relax and recover. Lots of cats around, delicious food when I stayed and lovely people staying there. Mel and Gary are wonderful hosts!
Amazing place. Mel is so helpful and so warm and welcoming. We had a fantastic stay. The staff are brilliant and always around to help with anything. We stayed for Christmas and I have no idea how they pulled off 84 dinners! Insanely good and impressive. The commitment and love flowing through the olive branch is so special. A very beautiful place. We will be back x
Having very mixed feelings about this place. On the positive side, the area is fantastic for climbing, with most routes easily accessible on foot, and there are some great walking trails. The guests are very friendly, and it’s easy to meet people and find climbing partners. The pool, slackline, and outdoor spaces are well-maintained and enjoyable. However, we found it was overcrowded. We stayed for two weeks, and during a full week of rain, it was impossible to find a spot in the common area to sit and relax. As a result, we spent most of our time in our truck—considering the €10 per person per day fee, it didn’t feel like good value. Another issue is the overwhelming number of volunteers, which creates a super strange dynamic between guests and staff, it seems like everyone is competing for space in the already small common areas. Most of the volunteers stay between themselves and very rarely talk to guests. Facilities are also insufficient. There are four toilets and two showers for over a dozen volunteers and around ten guests using the common facilities, which doesn't seem enough. By late morning, the showers are usually cold, and volunteers often resort to using the private apartments for hot showers. The experience would be significantly better if there were separate common areas for guests and volunteers or if the number of volunteers didn’t exceed that of the guests.
