Hotel in a nice quiet street, very close to tube station and shops etc. Odd check in experience. The receptionist simultaneously booked us in at the same time as another guest, going back and forth between us. Gave me a form to fill in whilst processing the other gentleman's payment, then back to me for security deposit, back to him to issue key and give give directions to room, then back to me to do the same. I think I would have preferred to wait a short time and be served as an individual but there was no harm done, it just felt odd and much more for the receptionist's convenience than ours. Room and public areas spotlessly clean. However, the room was absolutely tiny and the finish was certainly not 4 star.
My main complaint is the mislabeling of the property. This was labeled as a four star hotel. As someone who has worked in the hotel industry for a long time. This is NOT a four star. This is probably a 2 star at most. Thus all expectations were different. Tiny rooms. No amenities. Very very simple room. The good things are great location and nice staff. For a 2 star hotel I would rate this a 5 star!! For a 4 star deceptive marketing tactic. It is deserving of a 2 star.
The location was great and the service was ok nothing to write home about, but the rooms were really dingy. We booked 2 rooms and were charged the same price but one of them was really a shoebox. The doors are right next to each other and facing at an angle so we were constantly disturbed by the lift and general traffic. The rooms were clean but one shouldn't have difficulty cleaning up 25 sqft. If you're booking check the room size beforehand. We had one guest in the party who was suffering from claustrophobia but despite requests we were not put in a different room.
