Our room was very modern with comfortable beds. The shower was great, no issues whatsoever and the staff were very friendly. A fantastic view from our room overlooking the Olympic Stadium and city of Amsterdam. Would highly recommend and will consider next time we are in Amsterdam!
The Restaurant and hotel are terrific!! Wait staff was kind, helpful and attentive. The Rib Eye steak, Steak Tartar, Chinese tomato soup and burgers were perfectly cooked by their Italian chef. Breakfast was a 10 of 10 score as wife and son enjoyed Full breakfast menu and numerous accoutrements. Best Hotel experience in many years!!
The hotel itself has nice general facilities and a pleasant overall look. Breakfast was also good. However, we experienced several serious issues during our stay that were handled poorly. The first issue was a broken door handle and lock, which made it impossible to lock the room from the outside—posing a clear security risk for us and our belongings. We reported this three times over three days. The first two times, reception simply said they’d look into it, but nothing was done. On the third day, a different receptionist finally came to check and was shocked it hadn’t been addressed earlier. He called maintenance immediately, and the issue was finally resolved. The second problem was with housekeeping—our room was never cleaned throughout our stay. We informed reception daily, and each time they claimed we had requested no cleaning, which was not true. We never placed a “do not disturb” sign, nor did we ever see housekeeping staff. Despite this, we were refused any discount or compensation for the lack of cleaning, which is part of what we paid for. When we asked to speak to a manager—not to complain, but to simply share our experience in hopes of preventing similar issues in the future—we were told the manager did not want to hear about it. It’s a shame, because the hotel could be a great place to stay. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and care from the staff left us disappointed and frustrated.
