The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach but it also has two pools. Both are excellent. The staff are wonderfully professional, welcoming and warm. I appreciate staff who are interested in making your stay as pleasant as possible and when they realize you're travelling solo they make the extra effort to converse with you. Breakfast is included and you can choose to eat at the hotel for all meals or just breakfast and one other meal. Drinks are not expensive. There is car parking on the property. I will return.

Overall it was a nice experience. Rooms are completely fine, new furniture, maybe just a little bit too small. Food was good. Maybe a little bit more diversity in food choice would be welcomed. Pool was clean. But overall good experience, I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

We got a great deal to stay with fullboard at the Olympus, so even though the hotel didn’t live up to our expectations, the price we paid was fair for what we did get. We wouldn’t stay at the Olympus again for many reasons, but for someone just looking for a basic hotel in Salou, it might be an acceptable option. The food is pretty basic, and many items at the buffet are not labeled, so if you have any dietary restrictions, it’s difficult to know what is ok to eat. The included wine in the fullboard was undrinkable in our opinions. It was below an acceptable standard, especially since we are in one of the most famous wine regions in Spain. Breakfast was ok, there’s a big selection of the basics. The rooftop pool area and bar is probably the nicest feature of the hotel, but it closes at 7pm every evening and no cocktails can be ordered after 6:30pm. The music cuts out at 6.56pm every evening and the pool closes which is way before sunset in the spring and summer. The pools are not heated, not even the pool that looks like a jacuzzi in the photos, so don’t get excited about relaxing in warm water here. The rooms are modern but were remodeled on the cheap. The doors to the hallway and bathroom might as well be curtains because you can hear your partner breathing on the toilet and your neighbors gossiping in the hallway, not to mention the persistent door slamming. The shower floor looks like pressed wood that was painted over and the furniture in the bedroom is worse quality than Ikea. 80% of the rooms are triples, so even if you booked a double room, you will most likely get a double bed with another twin bed crammed in the corner that takes up very precious real estate in a very small room. Salou itself is a pretty down market destination with a lot of bars catering to British tourists and tourists who like to order XXL cocktails. If you want a bit of class, I would rather suggest staying in the neighboring towns of Cambrils or Tarragona.
