Definitely not what you would expect for a four-star in terms of European or North American Standards for the room (older and not maintained well) but the service was impeccable and we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet
We arrived at 8 am from overseas and they let us checked in early. To our surprise they upgraded our room to a corner suite on the 14th floor on the next day with a very nice view of the Nile river. The breakfast lady was very nice and served us well, she also helped us to pack breakfast on our last day. Although the hotel maybe dated but the service is warm and above our expectations. Hotel is situated in a central and safe location called Zamalek. Lots of local restaurants around, and you can Uber to many attractions nearby within minutes.
Hotel was clean but we had a backed up toilet as soon as we arrived. It took a lot of time and reminding to get it fixed. The breakfast was good and the pool offered a nice break from the heat.
