OMO5 Kyoto Gion by Hoshino Resort

This is a hotel you would not want to leave and want to make it home! The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. We had the best sleep here among all the overnight travels we had! The location can not be better! It is surrounded by the best local shops and restaurants, as well as attractions. All within a short stroll of just 10 mins or so. The hotel staff are extremely nice and helpful. It was a very pleasant experience to chat with some of them to understand more about the local area and culture in this city. The nighttime activities getting ready for the summer festival were nice, too. Next time when we visit Kyoto, we will choose to stay here again.

Really really nice hotel for 4 people. We were able to get a room with 4 separate bed and a small kitchen/living room. Very very clean and it was really comfortable. Hotel is right across the screen from Yasaka shrine. 24 hour drug store across the street, 24 hour Familar Mart across the other street. A lot of food and walking distance to various things. This is not the hotel to stay if you want to be within walking distance of the shopping district.

We stayed for 4 nights in the Hotel and were totally satisfied. It's a modern hotel in a traditional Japanese style. The hotel staff were always friendly and super helpful. We booked the room with the breakfast option. Sadly there was no proper hotel breakfast and only a bread mix for self baking and a sushi type. They change by day (1st- bread; 2nd - suhshi; 3rd bread again; ...). But we arranged ourself with the breakfast and it was really tasty! It's possible to join free tours with the hotel staff - which is super cool. We borrowed one evening some lanterns, which was a highlight for our little one.
