One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel

I had the pleasure of staying at One Marine Drive in Hermanus, a five-star hotel that’s part of the Living Journey Collection. This stunning coastal retreat offers uninterrupted ocean views right from the room—truly breathtaking. The staff were exceptional, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and classic hospitality, with thoughtful touches throughout. The property features two inviting pools and a charming restaurant that serves a delicious breakfast and a light day menu for casual bites. There’s also a well-stocked bar and several cozy lounge areas ideal for relaxing. I can’t recommend this incredible place enough. It would make an especially perfect stay during whale season when Hermanus comes alive with marine activity. Or just perfect if you are a lover of the ocean like I. Enjoy this one!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon and wish we stayed longer. The accommodations are clean, the food is delicious and the staff are incredible. Thank you for your hospitality. We look forward to our return.

We stayed for 3 nights recently in One Marine drive and although we enjoyed our stay I have to admit I was a bit disappointed by the “5 star” rating vs what we got. The positives are the location is brilliant, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. We had a beautiful sea view room for two nights which we loved!! Our first night we had a partial sea view room which was very average. The balcony looked into someone’s back yard and the shower faces into the bedroom which I found a little odd as the glass was not frosted. I would not book this room again. Breakfast was fine, good selection but not blown away. We passed on getting breakfast two mornings. The pool area was very nice, although I felt the actual pool was a bit grubby. Overall a nice stay but feels very average vs what’s advertised online. I read that it recently got taken over by new ownership so I’m assuming this is the reason. Definitely not a 5 star establishment in my opinion!
