An absolutely stunning hotel with A+ service and scenery. Immerse yourself more into the culture of Japan by staying in a traditional Japanese setting complete with complimentary kimonos. Cuisine was amazing and the views are beautiful. Stayed 10 days in Japan and this by far was my favorite stop.
Amazing place and affordable for what it offers. We paid around 30,000yen for two for one night and we had really delicious kaiseki and breakfast included in this price and the whole building looks so beautiful and newly renovated. Some ryokan has that old and sometimes even smokey smell but this ryokan smells good. I love the fact that we all not wear shoes inside the building. They only give slippers for you to use. Finally the best part of our stay is Shizu-san—I’ve been to many ryokans and hotels and her attitude, friendliness was the best and so warm. She’s been so kind to us. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
Tl;dr Definitely exceeded my expectations and highly recommend this ryokan. I would definitely recommend staying at this ryokan if you have the chance. I was actually blown away by the hospitality. Upon walking in for check-in, there was a label with my name on it to place my shoes. That caught me by surprise. Then my surprise grew even more when there was a table with some sweets and drinks waiting for us. The lady working the reception was very warm and very welcoming. We had booked a private bath with our room. The room was quite spacious and clean. The private bath was a little smaller than I expected, but was still very relaxing to use. And the water was definitely the perfect onsen temperature. Breakfast was included with the booking and I was once again surprised by having a table with my name and room number on it. The breakfast set-up was beautiful and made me feel very fancy. 😆The ladies at the restaurant were incredibly friendly and not afraid to chat with us. I think they may have made the stay even better. The only negative part is the trek to the hotel. If you can, I highly recommend getting a taxi straight from the station to the hotel. Or if you contact them early enough, you can arrange a pick up from the station. We took the bus then walked from the station. The walk isn't far from the bus stop (8-10 minutes?) But the climb up is what got us. If you have heavy luggage, I wish you the best. The hike wasn't pleasant, but the views make up for it.
