Onyado Nono Matsue is an incredible stay that blends modern comfort with traditional Japanese charm. The room was spotless and beautifully designed with tatami flooring, giving a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. I loved the thoughtful touches like the yukata provided in the closet and the comfortable seating area – perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Matsue. But the real highlight of this hotel is the onsen facilities. The public bath is spacious, serene, and immaculately clean. They also have a large sauna that’s perfect for a deep sweat session, followed by two types of cold plunge pools – an exhilarating contrast that leaves you feeling completely refreshed. It’s one of the best onsen experiences I’ve had in a city hotel! The staff are friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with any questions. The location is convenient, close to Matsue Station and many attractions. If you want a stay that combines a relaxing onsen experience with modern amenities, Onyado Nono Matsue is a fantastic choice. I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent place to stay, with onsen and traditional rooms and breakfast. Roms were quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. There were only 2 downsides for me: - it's very good to have an English speaking foreigner working at the reception to help with non-Japanese speakers, however it would be better if the service could be more polite and less brutal. Maybe she was tired but talking in a strong tone as if she was giving orders was not very pleasant upon my arrival; - I was refused parking entrance because it was my friend (and not me) driving our car, which I found quite odd

We spent 2 nights here and very much enjoyed using it as a base to explore Matsue and Izumo. Although some may find the tatamis quaint and Japanese, having to take your shoes off and put them in a locker each time to go in and out of the hotel is a bit of a pain. However, our room was quite nice, there were tasteful little touches of Japanese design and crafts throughout the hotel, and they provide a very nice "breakfast" with a wide variety of food - including tempura that is cooked on the spot. Although it is not very close to the station, since we had rented a car at the airport, that didn't affect us, and the hotel provides parking for a small fee. The hotel is within comfortable walking distant of Lake Shinji (8 min) as well as Matsue Castle (13 min).
