Onyado Toho

This has been the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Japan so far. We’re here in May with friends. The hotel isn’t too busy. The buffet dinner is incredible - food tastes amazing, lots of options and is very clean. The onsen is also great and the staff communicate really well. We got to watch the sunset while eating dinner too! I would definitely recommend. There was also a free shuttle to get us from the train station to the hotel.

This ryokan situated at the side of a hill, there’s free parking onsite and if there’s overflow they will guide you to a nearby carpark and pick you up after you dropped off your car. The hotel is well facilitated, they have a souvenir shop, banquet hall and dining hall. Their rooms are spacious, new, has all the amenities you need and the perfect for a family of 5. There’s two massive onsen, there’s an outdoor area and indoor onsen with a sauna. They interchange everyday between male and female. The only thing I can fault this is that their buffet is the same each day both breakfast and dinner. Don’t get me wrong all the dishes on offer are all the local specialties dishes and you won’t be disappointed. After two days of the same food I think that’s where the limit is, staying here for one night is great. Two is max, the experience gets repetitive. Stay here for a genuine local Japanese experience and this is where most Japanese stay when they travel.

A very beautiful Onsen Ryokan in Aizu Wakamatsu. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room was very beautiful and the outdoor public Onsen had a stunning view. We are very pleased with two night stays and will come back to this hotel when we visit this town in the future. The breakfast and dinner buffet selections were great. Free hotel shuttle to and from Aizu-Wakamatsu train station is provided. Call or email the hotel before to confirm the pick-up time.
