I had an absolutely amazing stay at this beautiful traditional inn near Shirakawa-go. The place is full of authentic Japanese charm — the floors are made of tatami and wood, and you can even smell the gentle, calming scent of the tatami as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and peaceful. The staff were incredibly kind, polite, and professional. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room had a stunning view of the surrounding nature — waking up to that scenery was unforgettable. One of the highlights was definitely the food. The Japanese-style meals they served were not only beautifully presented but also incredibly delicious. You can tell they use fresh, local ingredients and a lot of care goes into each dish. I was beyond satisfied with my stay and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Shirakawa-go. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and hospitality

It was the highlight of our trip in Japan! A whole new hotel experience for me as we had to lock up our shoes and walk around the hotel with socks on. The idea of not needing to wear shoes when walking around the hotel is 👍🏼. Met many friendly staff who were helpful. There is a lot of free food/snacks. The onsen is good! The food experience is good too, the amount is more than enough! Sake is inexpensive! Really wished we could stay for another night!

The rooms and interior were perfect, amenities were plentiful, and the onsens were great. However, the staff seemed far less friendly and hospitable than other hotel staff we have encountered previously in Japan. We booked 2 rooms at short notice, and weren’t sure whether their lack of enthusiasm was because of this, or unrelated. We were also not allowed to use the restaurant due to our short notice booking which seemed like a strange policy/decidion. The photo shows the beautiful rice fields that surround the hotel.
